Greyshirting this year while recovering from a knee injury suffered early last season, Williams is nonetheless closely following his future squad.
“It was great to be out at the game and just seeing the environment and how everybody is completely behind the Wildcats,” Williams said. “That is one of the reasons that I can’t wait to get there and start playing.
“When Nick made that run it was unreal. That’s my boy and seeing him do that just motivated me even more to get to the point where I can get back out there.”
Williams believes his knee injury his healing at a fast rate.
“It’s getting better all the time," he said. "I’m very happy with the progress and I know the coaches are too. I know they need some size on that defensive line and I’m ready to get out there and do my thing and plug up those holes.”
Ideally, Williams will arrive to Tucson in January.
“That’s been the plan for quite some time," he said. "They want to me to continue to recuperate and by the time I get there I should be able to hit the ground running. The coaches want me to get there as quickly as possible because I can help out the team.
“They’ve been awesome with me this entire time and I want to get down there and make them proud and really help put Arizona football into the big lights. The talent is there.”
