Staff Predictions: Week Three

Arizona takes on Nevada Saturday night. Read on to see how WildcatAuthority.com sees the game playing out and why.

Michael Luke: I'm of the opinion that Nevada's performance against Southern Utah was more indicative of the Wolfpack as a team. Southern Utah ran all over the Wolfpack, and Arizona is a much better running team.

Once the Nevada defense is softened up, look for Arizona to start making big plays in the passing game. After struggling a bit against UTSA, you can count on Solomon to have a very efficient evening.

Arizona 41 Nevada 17

Overall: 2-0

Cody James Martin: This is an interesting game because I have a very high view of Cody Fajardo for Nevada. The problem is that he doesn't have very many other weapons on his team and that is going to hurt him. He won't be able to do it all by himself.

Arizona will take an early and commanding lead in this one thanks in part to a few big passes from Anu Solomon on play action. Nick Wilson abuses the defense for 150 yards and two touchdowns as the Wildcats roll to a big victory.

Arizona 41, Nevada 17

Overall: 2-0

Jason Scheer: Nevada is an interesting team because its game against Washington State was probably better than any game it played last season. However, Wazzu is a one dimensional team and once Nevada got ahead, the rest was predictable.

Arizona is absolutely the better team on Saturday and I get the feeling that the Wildcats are going to make sure Solomon gets his confidence back and make things easy for him to start. Nevada's secondary consists of one good corner, but the rest leaves something to be desired.

The assumption here is that the Wildcats get an early lead and Nevada becomes relatively one-dimensional, making things much easier for Arizona.

Arizona, 38, Nevada 21

Overall: 2-0
