Burrell will take his time

Owings Mills (Md.) McDonogh 2016 safety Eric Burrell is a long way from making a decision. Read on to see what schools he is hearing from, what he wants in a school, and more.

Owings Mills (Md.) McDonogh 2016 safety Eric Burrell is known as one of the rising players in his class and by this time next season, he figures to have plenty of offers.

“Right now there are four,” Burrell said. “Boston College, Virginia Tech, Virginia and Old Dominion are the ones who have actually told me they want me to attend there.

“It feels pretty good to just be starting my junior season and already have offers from good programs in my area. I’m looking to see if I can get some more.”

There is little doubt that Burrell is poised to see more offers come his way.

“There are some other schools that are recruiting me but haven’t offered at this point," he said. "Arizona is one of the schools that comes to mind.

"They tell me they want to see how the rest of my junior season goes and then if everything looks good I could get an offer.”

Burrell’s recruitment is still in the early stages and he offers no indication of an impending commitment.

“I’m quite a ways off at this point. “I have no clue what’s going on right now. I will probably decide after my senior season. I need to take visits and I need to know who is really interested in me and how I feel about them.

“The coaches, especially, will be a major factor. I want to see what they are trying to do and what they think that I can do in their system. I don’t know a lot of this stuff, so that will be the first step for me.”
