Fresno (Calif.) Bullard 2016 outside linebacker/tight end Cvaughn Stewart doesn’t possess an extensive offer list yet, but the lanky athlete owns the frame that screams out big-time potential.
“Everything is going really well right now and I feel my talent coming out,” Stewart said. “Our team is grinding and I’m doing my thing. I worked hard this offseason on my routes and my blocking and it’s made me a better player.”
As is the case with so may Fresno-area stars, Arizona is trying to make an impression on Stewart. In this case, a family connection certainly doesn’t hurt.
“Arizona is a school that has some things that I really like about it," Stewart said. "We haven’t really talked about their system or anything, but I know they put up big numbers.
“Seeing my cousin Nick Wilson doing what he’s doing has been great. The kid can really play and he’s showing the world what he can do. I can’t say that I’m really surprised by how he’s doing. He’s always been a fast, strong guy who has made a big impact at all levels.”
Stewart plans on seeing his cousin in action in a few weeks.
“Right now the plan is for me to go down to Arizona for the Southern California game," he said. "It isn’t 100 percent confirmed yet, but I have the plan already laid out. I’m excited to see everything up close.”
This is Stewart’s first visit, so he is talking a wait and see approach.
“I don’t know what to expect exactly," he said. "I’m just going to go with the flow. I will keep a close eye on everything though and see how everybody is used.”
