Physical pass rushers like New Orleans Warren Easton 2015 outside linebacker Arthur McGinnis are not easy to find, so it comes as no surprise that he is a priority recruit for the Wildcat coaching staff.
“They’ve been on me for a bit,” McGinnis said. “They tell me that early playing time is certainly possible and as a competitor that is something you want to hear.
"They have been doing some good things and I will be taking a visit out there. I’m not totally sure when though.”
Arizona will have major competition for McGinnis’ services.
“I also have trips set up to Georgia and Oklahoma," McGinnis said. "Those are two of the best programs in the country and I’m excited to see what they have to offer and how they see a guy like me fitting in there.”
A connection with the coaching staff is of major importance to McGinnis.
“Obviously, I want to play for coaches that will let me get after the quarterback, but I feel if I work hard that will happen," he said. "The most important thing for me is how I get along with the head coach and my position coach on a daily basis.
“If I can’t see myself around those guys then I will look elsewhere. I have some choices.”
McGinnis is looking to narrow down his list soon.
“I want to get a top five school list here in short time," he said. "Then I can compare the advantages of each school, because after the season is over, I want to be able to make my decision.”
Academics will also play role in McGinnis’ decision.
“I want to major in mass communication and I would like the school I pick to have a good program like that available,” he said.
