Przemek Karnowski got Gonzaga on the board to open the game. Kevin Pangos then hit a jumper, but T.J. McConnell responded with a three. Gary Bell Jr. then scored as Rondae Jefferson came back with a three. A bucket by Stanley Johnson proceeded to put the Wildcats up 8-6 five minutes into the game.
Karnowski scored and Pangos went one of two from the line. York hit a shot in the lane, but Wiltjer came back with a three. Brandon Ashley hit a three of his own and a bucket by Karnowski gave the Bulldogs a 16-15 lead.
Wiltjer and Kaleb Tarzewski exchanged baskets before Wiltjer made two free-throws. A three by Wesley then put Gonzaga up 23-17 with 3:46 left in the half.
Hollis-Jefferson and Wesley exchanged a pair of free-throws each before Ashley hit a three. Wesley and Ashley then scored again, as three by Elliott Pitts tied it at 27 at halftime.
Bell and York exchanged baskets before Domantas Sabonis scored and added two from the line to give Gonzaga a 33-29 lead a few minutes into the half.
McConnell scored, but Kanowski got two straight buckets. Tarczewski then got a three-point play and Wiltjer scored.
Tarczewski and Kyle Dranginis both scored before Johnson and Jackson-Cartwright did the same. Bell and Tarczewski exchanged buckets to keep Gonzaga’s lead at 43-42 with 10:38 left.
Wiltjer scored and Tarczewski made two free-throws, but Bell hit a three to force timeout and put Gonzaga up four.
Bell made two free-throws and McConnell made one of two. Hollis-Jefferson and Wiltjer then both scored before Johnson made a three.
Pangos got in the lane for a layup and Johnson then made two from the line. Karnowski and Wiltjer proceeded to score to give Gonzaga a 58-52 lead with 3:57 left.
Johnson made two free-throws and Ashley scored in the paint to cut the lead to two, but Sabonis came back with two free-throws.
Ashley proceeded to score two straight buckets as his jumper with 1:14 left tied the game at 60, which would hold until overtime.
McConnell made a layup and hit a jumper soon after to give the Wildcats a 64-60 lead with 2:28 left in overtime.
Pangos made a three to cut the lead to one, but McConnell got to the line and made one of two. Fortunately, he got his own rebound and made one of two from the line again.
Wesley got fouled on a three with 1.3 seconds and proceeded to miss all three, giving the Wildcats the victory.
