Anu Solomon has been battling injury for nearly a month now and the quarterback is excited to get some time to heal up.
"It’s very cool to have this much time to get healthy and let the trainers do their work on me," Solomon said. "It’s pretty nice."
The real excitement for Solomon is knowing that Arizona will be playing in one of the bigger bowls.
"I want to say surreal, but just exciting," Solomon said. "We knew we were going to get to a good bowl game.
"It was a matter of time, we’re playing a good opponent, and now we just have to get ready for them."
Arizona has nearly three weeks to prepare and in addition to allow Solomon to heal, it also allows the Wildcats to get ready for Boise State.
"With the matter of time we have, we have three weeks to prep for them and in the regular season we would only have four or five days," Solomon said. "It really helps us just to know what they do.
"Studying Boise and what they do, seeing what coverage they run. Basically just what they do and what we can do to attack it.
"Some of us are already done with finals, so we can just focus on Boise, but you can’t focus on getting in the cluster of finals and everything. We are student athletes and school comes first, but when we are done with that, Boise comes next."
Even though Solomon is on the offensive side of the ball, he can appreciate the week that Scooby Wright III had.
"He comes in the morning and he is just like a quarterback," Solomon said. "He is the first one here and the last one to leave. He is a guy that wants it all and his hard work is paying off right now."
