Wildcats dominate on the road

Arizona hit the road and defeated Oregon 80-62. Read on for a complete recap of the Wildcats' victory.

Arizona controlled Oregon throughout and eventually pulled away to defeat the Ducks 80-62 on the road.

Kaleb Tarczewski scored to open up the game and T.J. McConnell got two consecutive buckets. Tarczewski scored again before Elgin Cook got Oregon on the board. Tarczewski scored another bucket and Rondae Jefferson added another to force an Oregon timeout with the Wildcats up 12-2.

Michael Chandler scored and McConnell responded with a three. Ahmad Rorie scored and Dusan Ristic did as well. Dillon Brooks got a bucket and Joseph Young added another. Hollis-Jefferson got a bucket before Young made a three.

Gabe York got in the lane to score and Arizona took a 21-13 lead with 11:14 left in the half.

Cook scored and Stanley Johnson made two free-throws. Dwayne Benjamin got his first bucket of the night, but Tarczewski matched.

Casey Benson was fouled on a three and made his free-throws before making another three to bring the Ducks to within two with just over six minutes remaining in the half.

Johnson scored and McConnell added a basket before a score by Hollis-Jefferson forced an Oregon timeout.

Parker Jackson-Cartwright made two free-throw and Jalil Abdul-Bassit got a three-point play. Jordan Bell made a free-throw and Brooks got a three-point play of his own.

Tarczewski got a basket and Young proceeded to make two free-throws. Johnson and Ashley scored, as Brooks made two free-throws to cut Arizona’s lead to 39-34 at the half.

McConnell and Cook exchanged baskets to start the half and Ashley then scored. Bell made one of two from the line before McConnell got a bucket to put Arizona up 45-37 a few minutes into the half.

Ashley made a free-throw and York made two after Young was called for a technical. Hollis-Jefferson added two from the line before Rorie made a jumper. Bell got a dunk, but Johnson responded with two from the line.

After a three by York, Rorie made one as well. A jumper by McConnell then put Arizona up 57-44 with 11:36 left.

Ashley made one free-throw, but Bell and Young scored to force Miller to call timeout. McConnell scored and Hollis-Jefferson made two free-throws before Bell got a three-point play. Johnson then made a free-throw to put the Wildcats up 63-51 with 7:29 remaining.

Benjamin scored and Tarczewski made a free-throw. Bell made two from the line and McConnell answered right back before Young made a three to cut Arizona’s lead to nine.

Ashley made two free-throws, McConnell did as well, and Brooks added two of his own as Arizona led 71-60 with 3:57 left.

Johnson made two from the line and added a bucket before Hollis-Jefferson made a free-throw and scored off the glass to put Arizona up 78-60 and seal the victory.
