New Orleans (La.) Warren Easton 2015 pass rusher Arthur McGinnis is one of the more talented national recruits yet to select a school, but if Arizona has it’s way, he will be also be one of the last pledges to the 2015 UA recruiting class.
“My visit to Arizona this past weekend went really well,” McGinnis said. “I got to meet up close with a lot of the different coaches. I knew they were good guys, but meeting with them put things on a closer level.”
It wasn’t just football that was discussed.
“They want to build the program the right way and by that they mean they want guys who are about pushing each other and getting better, but also solid guys that will have fun during their time there," McGinnis said.
“When it came to the field, they said there is definitely a place for me to play. The best players will play and that is all there is to it.”
McGinnis claims that the Arizona visit was on par with other trips.
“When I go on my visits I want to like the scheme the school runs and where I would be playing," he said. "I want to be able to compete for playing time, but winning is important as well. I’m not looking to be the only guy there.
“The other thing is being able to enjoy living where I will be for the next few years. Arizona is a place that answered all those questions.”
Nonetheless, McGinnis still plans on taking another visit.
“I’m going to Oklahoma next and once I take that visit I will be able to decide really quickly," he said. "I’ve got most the information I have to get to make a decision. I want to give Oklahoma the next chance, but things are definitely winding down.”
