Wildcats come up clutch in road win

Arizona came up big at the end of the game and defeated Utah 63-57 to clinch a share of the Pac-12 title. Read on for a complete recap of the Wildcats' victory.

Arizona game up big in the situations where it needed to most as the Wildcats defeated Utah 63-57 to clinch a share of the Pac-12 title.

Brandon Ashley opened the game with a jumper and Jordan Loveridge made a three. Kaleb Tarczewski and Jakob Poeltl exchanged buckets before a floater by Gabe York put Arizona up 6-5 at the media timeout.

Delon Wright made one of two free-throws before York scored again. Dallin Bachynski got on the board, as did Stanley Johnson. T.J. McConnell’s jumper proceeded to put the Wildcats up 12-8 with 11:55 left in the first half.

Tarczewski made two free-throws and Johnson made a three to force timeout with the Wildcats up 17-8.

Loveridge made a three before Tarczewski hit two free-throws. Brekkott Chapman proceeded to make two consecutive threes to force timeout with the lead cut to 19-17 with 6:41 remaining in the half.

McConnell made two free-throws and Wright then made a three. Bachynski then got a bucket to give the Utes the lead.

Ashley made one free-throw and Wright made two. Tarczewski then made two more and Wright matched.

Arizona got a bucket from Ashley and Chris Reyes made a free-throw. McConnell and Wright made one each before two free-throws by Pitts put Arizona up 29-28 at the half.

Wright scored to start the half and Tarczewski made a free-throw. Wright then made two of his own off a technical foul and Loveridge hit a jumper. Two free-throws by Johnson proceeded to bring Arizona within two at the media timeout.

Wright and Johnson exchanged baskets before Bachynski and Tarczewski did the same as Utah led 38-36 with 12:05 left.

Bachynski scored and Johnson made two free-throws. Loveridge made two also before Johnson got one. Wright made two more and McConnell made a jumper. A three by Taylor then gave the Utes a 47-41 lead with 8:11 remaining.

York made a three and Rondae Jefferson got his first bucket of the game. A shot by Poeltl put the Utes back up three.

Tarczewski scored and Hollis-Jefferson made two free-throws. Taylor scored and Hollis-Jefferson made one of two before Ashley hit a jumper to give Arizona a 53-51 lead with 3:56 left.

Utah got the lead back with three free-throws by Isaiah Wright, but Hollis-Jefferson’s dunk put Arizona up one.

After Arizona missed numerous layups, Taylor made a three and the Utes took a two-point lead with just under two minutes left.

York made one free-throw and missed the second, but got the rebound and score to put Arizona up one.

Hollis-Jefferson made two free-throws to put Arizona up three and after a missed layup by Taylor, one more free-throw from Hollis-Jefferson and two from York sealed the victory.
