Arizona ends regular season in style

Arizona defeated Stanford 91-69 at McKale on Saturday. Read on for a complete recap of the Wildcats' victory.

Arizona ended the regular season in impressive fashion as it beat up on Stanford en route to 91-69 a victory.

Matt Korcheck scored the first bucket of the game before Stanley Johnson added a three. Chasson Randle then made a three of his own, but Kaleb Tarczewski got a three-point play and Brandon Ashley hit a jumper to put Arizona up 10-3 three minutes into the game.

Anthony Brown and Rondae Jefferson scored. Hollis-Jefferson then got another basket and Tarczewski added one.

Randle and Dusan Ristic exchanged hoops and both teams got a free-throw each. Ashley got a layup, but a three from Rosco Allen and Randle forced Arizona to call timeout up 21-14 with 10:43 left in the first half.

Tarczewski made a free-throw and Randle made two. Johnson then hit a three, but Allen matched it. Tarczewski and Randle made two free-throw and a shot by Dorian Pickens cut Arizona’s lead to 27-23.

Stefan Nastic , Gabe York, and Allen made two free-throws each. York then made a three, as did Parker Jackson-Cartwright. A bucket by York and Tarczewski proceeded to put Arizona up 12 with about three minutes left in the half.

Ashley scored and then made one of two free-throws. Brown got a bucket and Ashley then made two more from the line. Randle scored, but York hit a three at the buzzer to give Arizona a 47-31 lead at the half.

Nastic scored the first points of the second half, but Ashley and Johnson then got a bucket each. Nastic made two free-throws and Hollis-Jefferson proceeded to score.

Randle made a free-throw, but a three by York and Brown had the Wildcats up 56-41 five minutes into the half.

Hollis-Jefferson made a free-throw and Marcus Allen answered with a bucket. Ristic then made one of two from the line, but Nastic made two. After a free-throw from Johnson, Marcus Allen scored.

McConnell responded with a bucket to put Arizona up 61-47 with 11:46 left.

Ashley made two free-throws as Nastic and Hollis-Jefferson scored. Arizona then got a three-point play from Hollius-Jefferson.

Marcus Allen made a free-throw and Tarczewski got a dunk before Brown made a three. McConnell and Nastic then exchanged a pair of free-throws each as Arizona led 72-55 with 7:40 remaining.

McConnell made two free-throws, as did Nastic and Hollis-Jefferson. McConnell then scored before Randle got a free-throw and Nastic got two. Tarczewski made one of his own and McConnell made two more.

Travis made two free-throws and Marcus Allen scored. McConnell then got two free-throws before Elliott Pitts made a three. Ashley and Brown exchanged baskets and Arizona led 86-64 with 3:14 left.
