Tarczewski glad to be moving on

It's all bout survive and advance this time of year and Arizona did just that Thursday. Read on for Kaleb Tarczewski's thoughts on the win and more.

As soon as Kaleb Tarczewski got back to the Arizona locker room, he knew that Iowa State and Baylor had gone down earlier in the day.

"This is the NCAA Tournament," Tarczewski said. "Every team in here deserves to be here, so any team can beat another on any given night."

That's why Tarczewski may not be happy with Arizona's play, but he is certainly fine with the Wildcats winning.

"It is nice to get out there and play in the tournament," Tarczewski said. "It’s the brightest lights and the biggest stage.

"It might not have been our best performance of the year, but we came up with a win and that’s all that matter. We are going to try to be at our best on Saturday."

Arizona often gets by on its sheer talent and that's simply not enough in the tournament.

"I think we’re a good team," Tarczewski said. "It is easy to win some games just because we are talented, but we have to know moving forward there are great teams in this tournament. We have to be prepared to play hard."

Offensively, Arizona played well. Defensively, the struggles were more of an overall effort.

"I think it has to do with team defense, being in the gaps, helping out," Tarczewski said. "They were a team that was really trying to go one on one with ball screens and baseline drives, so team defense is something we were focused on and need to get better."
