La Habra (Calif.) 2016 linebacker Jacob Colacion is seeing his stock increase as of late and his offer list reflects that.
“Right now, I would say the schools that are coming after me the most are Nevada, Washington State and Oregon State,” Colacion said. “I’m getting interest though from Arizona, Cal, Arizona State, San Jose State and Fresno State.”
Colacion is a bit ahead of the recruiting curve, as he has already taken visits to a number of different places.
“My unofficials were all fun," he said. "Cal and ASU are big time schools that have fun systems while San Jose State, Fresno State and Nevada are programs that are on their way up.
“I know all these schools are in the same region, but I’m not tied to that stuff. I want to see how the coaches treat the players and what everyone has to say about the program.
"That, to me, is one of the best ways of being able to find out which school is a good fit for me.”
If recent interest is any indication, you can expect Arizona to pick up the recruiting pace.
“Coach Smith has been talking to my coach," Colacion said. "They like how I play and it seems that they want me to see their school. I don’t know a lot about Arizona, so we’ll see if the interest stays up.”
As of now, Colacion is not planning to drag out the process.
“I’m not going to rush the decision, but I would really like to get this out of my way before my senior season," he said. "I’m going to give schools some time to see who is really interested in me, but I’m going to start narrowing things down in the early summer.”
