Fultz planning to visit

Markelle Fultz has seen his stock increase as of late. Read on to get an update on his recruitment, including plans to visit Arizona.

Arizona spent last weekend evaluating numerous prospects and one player Sean Miller watched is Hyattsville (M.D.) Dematha junior combo guard Markelle Fultz.

“Right now, Markelle can play either guard position and we’re looking to get it to the point where he can run the point all the time,” says Fultz’s mentor, Keith Williams.

“Markelle is a phenomenal athlete and when you look at the great players at the point guard position they are super athletes and he fits right in there.

"He’s not obviously just a point guard. He will play the two as well, but we just want to get him as good as skills as possible.”

The recruiting process for Fultz has already begun and figures to intensify in the coming months.

“We went to Virginia for a visit a couple weeks ago and it was nice," Williams said. "It was a good time. We don’t have any visits set up, but we will have that ready in the coming months.”

Arizona is one the first visits on the agenda.

“I’ve known Book forever," Williams said. "He is a great guy and very well respected in this part of the country. With what Coach Miller is doing, this is the kind of place where we’re looking at.”

Fultz knows what he’s looking for on his visit.

“We want to get a team that plays up tempo and we want to find a place where Markelle will be able to play right away," Williams said.

"We really want to get the decision out of the way this summer and I’m guessing we will be able to do enough to get that done.”
