Dallas Prime Prep forward Billy Preston has emerged as one of the top players in 2017. His 6-foot-9, 220-pound frame is ideal for his position, but Preston possesses a skill set outside of the normal four-man.
“I think my versatility for my position helps me win a lot of matchups,” Preston said. “I play the four, but I can a lot more from different spots on the floor.
“My game is where I want it to be right now. I’m just looking to get better everyday and work on becoming an all around player.”
Preston’s offensive ability is impressive, but he still feels he has plenty to improve on.
“There is always room to improve your game,” he said. “For me, I want to get after it more on defense and work on finishing different post moves.”
Preston's recruitment is still wide open with no visit dates in mind or a list of favorites.
“No school is really recruiting me the hardest,” he said. “It’s all about the same with every program. They’ve offered me a scholarship and asked me to visit, but that’s about it.
“I don’t have any favorites right now, each school is getting an equal look. When the time is right I know I will find the perfect program for me, but there’s still a lot of time.”
