Orlando (Fla.) Oak Ridge 2016 linebacker Jonathan Jones figures to be on of the most highly recruited linebackers in his class and it’s not a surprise as to why he will garner such attention.
“I do all the things you need to do from a middle linebacker,” Jones said. “I can get my guys into position and read out my keys, but once that ball is snapped I’m all about forcing that turnover.
"Whether that is off a pick or a forced fumble, I try to get everybody going and that is the best way to do it. I spent a ton of time in the weight room and I feel I’m one of the stronger players whenever I step onto the football field.”
Jones figures to have his choice of colleges.
“I’m hearing from a ton of teams," he said. "Places like Michigan, Oklahoma, Duke, South Carolina, Pitt, Arizona, Notre Dame, and Florida State have been in touch.
"Being that it is kind of early and I have those programs interested is really great. I’m not going to make a super quick decision though, because I want to give every team a chance to make an impression.”
This figures to help multiple Pac-12 schools.
“Traveling will play no role in my decision," Jones said. "Again, that’s why I’m not going to make a quick decision. There are all kinds of teams with great traditions that I want to look at.
"When you look at my list right now it’s places from all over, so anyone that is interested in me I want to hear from them.”
