"He talked about how he could imagine being in the green room with myself, Markelle’s mom and Markelle.
"Part of the reason he might not have offered is he hasn’t seen him play. I got the impression an offer could be on the way, but I honestly don’t know.”
Arizona’s faith in Fultz’s skills isn’t in question.
“Sean loves Markelle’s game," Williams said. "They’ve obviously offered and the thing that they bring up is they are a tad bit surprised that he can play point guard as well as he does.
"Then you factor in his size and he’s a guy that gives you some options.”
The UA figures to have a chance to close the deal next month.
“I can’t swear to it, but I’m pretty sure we’re going down their June 8th and 9th and from the looks of things, Arizona is going to push for a commitment," Williams said.
"We can’t wait to see the place and talk with the coaches about where they see Markelle’s game heading.”
That would fit into the time period that the Fultz camp is looking to make a commitment.
“I can tell you for a fact that we will figure out where Markelle will go before his senior school year starts," Williams said.
"He has some good options and we’re starting to figure out who is really making him that option. A decision isn’t too far away.”
