Wildcats eyeing Florida athlete

Arizona has not offered Fort Myers (Fla.) South Fort Myers 2016 athlete Andre Polk, but he is hoping that changes. Read on for an update on his recruitment.

Fort Myers (Fla.) South 2016 athlete Andre Polk has seen his recruitment pick up in recent weeks, but there are three schools that stand out the most right now.

“The three schools that are coming after me the most and I’ve got a lot of love from are Louisville, Maryland and the University of South Florida,” Polk said.

“All three have coaching staffs that praise me and I can tell when I talk to all of them they have an idea of how they want to use me.”

There are other schools interested in the 6-foot-3, 190-pound Polk.

Arizona has been recruiting me for a while," Polk said. "We did not have long conversations, but they have watched me at school before."

The school that signs Polk will get a player whose life revolves around football.

“You can tell the second you watch me what I’m all about," Polk said. "I’m about putting that hat on a ball and will stop the ball carrier at all costs. I pride myself in knowing that I put everything into the game of football.

“When I go on visits I want to find the school with the coaching staff that is all about football, but also has the campus life that will make it an enjoyable time after I’ve walked off the field. I’m hopeful I can find that place sometime during my senior season.”

In the meantime, Polk will stay busy.

“Football and basketball are coming up for me this summer," Polk said. "Those are the two sports that I really value and I think they play well off each other.

"I play really physically in both sports and I need to have quickness and explosiveness to the ball in both. I get that I won’t be playing anymore after this season, but in the meantime I’m going to enjoy both to the fullest.”
