Modster not wavering

Devon Modster is confident in his commitment to Arizona. Read on to see why that is and more.

Las Flores (Calif.) Tesoro 2016 prospect Devon Modster is one of the most highly rated quarterbacks to ever pledge to Arizona, and offensive coordinator Rod Smith is a main reason why.

“I talk with Coach Smith all the time,” Modster said. “We have an absolutely awesome relationship. He’s been there since the beginning and is the kind of guy that I just totally trust.

“They think I m the prototype of what Coach Rodriquez wants in a quarterback. I’m a natural passer. I’m not trying to convert over from another position. Playing quarterback is what I do.”

Modster will follow Arizona with a keen interest this season.

“I think Arizona can be really good this season," Modster said. "Obviously, quarterback should continue to get better and the other skill guys on the roster are just really good.

"The running back was awesome last season and there are too many receivers to name them all. What guy wouldn’t want to play in a system like that?”

Don’t expect Modster to waver on his commitment.

“I’m going to take my official visit as soon as possible," he said. "I don’t know when that is, but whenever that is I will go there.

“When looking at all the teams, there were just so many good choices. But Arizona, to me, had the best combination of coaches and feel. There was just a natural balance between my potential to continue to get better and have a fun time doing it.”
