Battle's recruitment picking up

Arizona recently offered Dodge City (Kan.) Community College 2016 cornerback Elijah Battle. Read on to see how his recruitment is going and more.

Despite his relatively modest recruitment, don’t be surprised if Dodge City (Kan.) Community College 2016 cornerback Elijah Battle's recruitment picks up in the coming weeks, as there is a lot to like about his game.

“I’m a fast cornerback and I specialize in playing man, but I can do a little bit of everything,” Battle said. “I pride myself in being that all around defensive back that can play in a number of different schemes or systems.

"I’m physical, but can move. I think that is kind of a rare combination theses days.”

The offers have started to trickle in.

“Right now I have five," Battle said. "They are from Arizona, Houston, Buffalo Arkansas State and Ohio. I obviously like any school that is interested in me, so I’m going to do my best to get to all these places.

"Arizona is a school that especially has my interest because they are a Pac-12 school and they’ve been ranked for a bit. Plus the coaching staff there has a good reputation. I’m sure the more we chop it up the more we’ll figure out where we will go from here.”

As of now, this figures to be a fluid recruitment.

“Honestly, man, I don’t know when I’m going to decide," Battle said. "I’m just starting to get more notice. I’ve worked my entire life to get to this point and I don’t want to sell myself short. At the same time, I do realize how lucky I am to be in this situation in the first place.”
