Colacion is a Wildcat

Arizona received a commitment from La Habra (Calif.) linebacker Jacob Colacion. Read on for all of the latest.

After favoring Arizona for quite a while, La Habra (Calif.) linebacker Jacob Colacion committed to the Wildcats on Tuesday night.

Colacion recently visited Arizona and did not hide the fact that he came away extremely impressed.

“Wow, the visit was great,” Colacion said. “I got to see the school and I got to talk with the coaches. Coach Casteel was great. He just knows so much about the game and is so passionate about it.

"It was impressive because I could tell that he had scouted my game. They think I can fill into that WILL linebacker role and do a bunch of different things.

"The defense they run tries to get as many good guys on the field as possible. A lot of that is on the backend too, which is good for me.”

Arizona watched Colacion in April and decided to offer on the spot, which seemingly put it right in the lead.

"Coach Casteel and Coach Smith came to my school in the morning and watched us work out," he said at the time. "They must have liked what they saw because they ended up offering and I'm definitely excited about that one."

What kind of player is Arizona getting?

"Jacob Colacion has been one of the top linebackers we've seen this spring and the film is equally impressive," Scout.com's Greg Biggins writes. "He plays with tremendous instincts, balance and athleticism. He can rush the passer, play the run and has shown high level pass coverage during the 7v7 circuit."
