Hands to visit Arizona

Arizona will get a visit from five-star point guard Jaylen Hands. Read on to see when the visit is, his thoughts on the Wildcats, and more.

SUWANEE, Ga. - Chula Vista (Calif.) Mater Dei Catholic point guard Jaylen Hands is one of the top players in the 2017 class, but he isn't satisfied yet.

"I want to be consistent," Hands said. "I have really good games, but sometimes I have let downs. I want to consistently play great.

"My strengths right now are being a floor general, passing and scoring, getting everyone involved, but also being able to score well myself."

Hands is not ready to name any favorites, but there are four schools that are recruiting him the hardest.

"California, Arizona, UCLA, Stanford, and SDSU are the main schools I am hearing from," he said. "I am taking it slow with AAU going on. After our last tournament I will start thinking about it more."

Arizona commit T.J. Leaf and UCLA commit Jalen Hill have both let their AAU teammate know where they would like to see him play his college ball.

"They recruit me a lot," Hands said. "T.J. is telling me that Arizona is the best option and Jalen is telling me UCLA is in my backyard. They both have good pitches."

Of course, Leaf isn't the only one recruiting Hands to Arizona.

"I talk with Sean Miller and Joe Pasternack," he said. "They tell me I am a great point guard and since Coach Miller was a point guard, it is the best scenario for me. Also, the crowds that go and watch Arizona and the fan support."

As of now, Hands has one visit scheduled and knows what he will be looking for when he takes it.

"I am visiting Arizona the 7th of August," he said. "My parents have visited UCLA and SDSU and then hopefully California.

"I like to see how I fit and where I will be comfortable the most. I want to know the coaches care about me and will do what it takes to get me to the next level."
