Aurora (Co.) Overland center De'Ron Davis has had an impressive performance and he attributes it to his improvement.
“It has been going pretty well,” Davis said. “I think each tournament I get better and better and I am starting to open up my game a little bit.”
The four-star’s recruitment has not changed much except for one school.
“It is the same schools pretty much, but Texas is coming pretty hard,” Davis said. “Shaka is like my high school coach.
“He is in the drills with the kids and communicating. Basically, he is one of the guys.”
Another school that has been aggressive as of late is Arizona.
“They have picked it up a lot,” Davis said. “They have been calling and talking and we have built a relationship since Damon left.”
One reason Arizona has picked it up is because of a recent performance in front of Sean Miller.
“I have been talking with Sean Miller a lot,” Davis said. “I went up to the USA camp in Colorado and had a good talk with him.
“I scrimmaged against their guys and I think he got a good feel for what I can do and I played well.”
In addition, Arizona’s pitch is how well it believes Davis can fit with what it wants to do offensively.
“Arizona wants me playing my game,” Davis said. “They like to run and bigs that can play both inside and out. They like that I am versatile and run the floor.”
Davis does not have a timetable as to when he wants to decide, but is getting closer to narrowing his school list.
“I don’t have any plans to visit any schools because I am working on getting my top five straight,” he said. “I will probably get that done after July and then I will visit those schools.”
