Katy (Texas) Cypress Lakes 2016 point guard De'Aaron Fox continues to play as well as nearly every point guard in the country and will likely make a push to move up in the rankings because of it.
“Summer has been going well,” Fox said. “I think I really elevated my stock at Peach Jam because I played really well.
“I am just trying to finish out my summer strong. Of course I want to win, but I want to have fun and go out with a bang.”
Once the summer is over, Fox will take the next step in his recruitment.
“I am going to cut my list to about six after the live period,” he said. “I don’t want to put anything out there yet.
I don’t have any visits planned or anything, but they will be to the schools that make my cut.”
One school that is hoping to get a visit is Arizona.
“I like Arizona,” Fox said. “They have been coming at me strong.
“They offered me after the school year, but they have been really coming at me and talk to me about how guards in the Pac-12 get in the NBA and do well.”
As Fox looks to cut his list, he has a good idea of the criteria he will be looking at.
“I want to see who is there and who I can learn from,” he said. “I am going to be looking at a coach’s history.
“If a coach has never had a one and done, you don’t want to go there and expect to be a one and done. I have been told I can be a one and done, but it is all decided by what happens when I get there.
“Coach’s history and playing style are probably the two biggest things I am looking at.”
