Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei 6-4 wideout Andre Collins may fit the bill.
“I specialize in going up and getting the ball and turning upfield and making plays,” Collins said. “Whenever I get the ball, I’m looking to take the ball to the house. That’s always been my mentality. I’ve always been a bigger guy out there.
“We’re getting ready for training camp. Basically, everyone is working toward the same goal and we’re trying to grow as a team.”
Many of the top schools in the country are interested in Collins.
“I’ve been to USC, UCLA, CAL, Arizona, Arizona State, Michigan, Michigan State, Eastern Michigan, Indiana and Virginia," he said.
“All those schools have told me much of the same stuff. They all like me, but they want to see me ball out for the first couple games or so and then they will probably offer.
"I’m more than cool with that. I don’t shy away at all from competition and I know how good I am and I know I can get the interest of those schools.”
A decision seems to be a ways off.
“I’m going to look to narrow the list down as the season goes on," Collins said. "There is no rush on my part, so we’ll see what happens.”
