Napa Valley (Calif.) Prolific Prep 2016 wing Josh Jackson went into the summer evaluation regarded by many as the best prospect in the 2016 class and didn’t do much these past few months to dissuade that point of view.
“I pretty much accomplished what I wanted to get done this summer,” Jackson said. “I won quite a few games and I was focusing on doing a little bit of everything.
"I played so much ball this summer that it kind of became kind of a grind, but that’s what I do.”
Many of the best programs in the country were following Jackson’s every move. In fact, there seem to be four programs coming after Jackson the hardest.
“Right now, Kansas, Michigan State, Arizona, and Maryland are talking with me all the time," Jackson said. "Kansas has a history of producing wings like me and Coach Self is good guy while Michigan State is close to where I grew up and they’re in the hunt every season.
“Arizona is at all my games and they have let me know that I am one of their biggest options, regardless of class. Coach Miller is another guy just like the other really good coaches; he’s an easy guy to relate to.
“Maryland under Coach Turgeon is really on the up and up. You can see that in the players he’s bringing in and the hype around them going into that season that they will be good for quite awhile.”
Jackson doesn’t currently have any visits set up and his recruitment doesn’t figure to end anytime soon.
“When I find the right fit with the right coach who has the up and down style I want I will commit," Jackson said. "All those schools have that stuff; I just need to find the one that fits me best.”
