There aren’t many players in 2017 that are better than Newark (NJ) St. Benedict Prep point guard Trevon Duval and his recruitment reflects that.
Not only is Duval hearing from schools such as Syracuse, Villanova, and Louisville, but Pac-12 schools are starting to get involved as well.
“I have offers from schools all over the country,” Duval said. “Arizona recently offered me and California, UCLA, Oregon, and UNLV are all recruiting me also.”
There are some that believe Duval is among the top five players in his class and his play this summer certainly did not hurt those opinions.
“The summer went well for me,” he said. “I played a lot of games and tried to show everyone what we can do as a team.
“I know a lot of coaches watched me play. Some of my AAU coaches would let me know beforehand who was coming, but it’s hard not to see them right there.”
Arizona was among the schools to consistently watch Duval in action.
“I have talked with Coach Book for a while and then I talked to Sean Miller and he offered me,” Duval said. “They have done a good job recruiting me and talk to me as much as they can.”
“There’s no end in sight for Duval’s recruitment, but he knows what he wants in a school.
“I am trying to look at what bests fits me with playing style, college lifestyle, and all of that,” he said.
“I don’t have any visits lined up, but I know I want a school that likes to get out in transition and plays a faster pace.”
