Ronnie Hands breaks down son's Arizona visit

Jaylen Hands visited Arizona this past weekend. Read on to see where the Wildcats now stand and more.

Although Arizona just lost a highly regarded player T.J. Leaf, recruiting must go on and the Wildcats hosted 2017 Chula Vista (Calif.) Mater Dei Catholic point guard Jaylen Hands this past weekend.

"The visit went really well,” said Jaylen’s father, Ronnie Hands. “We talked with Coach Miller and the players a little bit and were able to check in on the goings on around the campus.

"It was just a good time. We think the world of Coach Miller though, so it wasn’t really surprising.”

Hands claims outside influences won’t impact his son’s recruitment.

“T.J. Leaf decommitting has nothing to with what we will do," Ronnie said. "T.J. is a great player, but he has to do what is best for him and I’m sure he will. On the other hand we have to so what is best for us and we’ll definitely do that."

Now that he visited Arizona, Hands has two more places in mind.

“We got Stanford and Cal Berkeley coming up here," Ronnie said. "We're going to see what is gong on there and then we’ll have a better idea of where we go from here. It’s a process, but we feel that we’ll be able to put in from there.”

As of now, Hands is unsure when he will decide.

“We’re definitely going to decide before the senior season," Ronnie said. "We’re not sure exactly when that will be, but it will be at a time in that period for sure.

"We know what we’re looking for and Arizona and UCLA and schools like those have great coaching staffs, are close to home and are going to be really good for the coming time."
