2016 guard Andrew Jones breaks down UA visit

2016 guard Andrew Jones is one of the top players in the country. Read on to see how Monday's unofficial visit to Arizona went and where his recruitment will head now.

Irving (Texas) MacArthur 2016 shooting guard Andrew Jones is one of the fastest rising prospects in the country and has numerous suitors throughout the country.

Jones was on the Arizona campus on Monday and came away with a host of observations.

“The visit went well,” Jones said. “It was my first time to get out to Arizona and see the place.

"It was fun because Coach Miller was taking me around in a golf cart and giving me a tour of the place. Having the head coach break down the school as you’re driving along was pretty neat."

What was Arizona's pitch?

“Coach Miller said they like my game a lot," Jones said. "That the more they watched me the more they thought that I would be a really good fit at Arizona.

"They like to give their guards a lot of options and responsibilities and he talked about how important it is for him to have guys out here who work hard and get after it.

“They’ve produced and recruited a lot of good players and they think I can become one of those guys.”

Jones intends to take some time to process the value of each program.

“I’m done with visits for now," he said. "I’ve taken a ton of them here in the past week. Once I get home I want to take my time and come out with a list.

"A lot of places gave me a ton to think about. I’m guessing I will tweet out my list of finalists here sometime next week.”

Just because Jones is narrowing his list doesn't mean that he is in a rush to decide.

“Honestly, I’m in no hurry," he said. "I don’t even really have an idea of when I will announce what school or anything like that. If I had to guess, I’m thinking it will probably be midseason or some time around there.”
