2017 Guard Markus Howard Breaks Down UA Visit

2017 Findlay Prep guard Markus Howard took an unofficial visit to Arizona on Wednesday. Read on to see what he thought of that visit and more.

Henderson (Nev.) Findlay Prep 2017 combo guard Markus Howard just finished an unofficial visit to Arizona and even though he didn’t learn much new, he came away with a favorable opinion of the trip.

“I know quite a bit about Arizona,” Howard said. “I’m obviously up at Findlay now, but Arizona has been a national power for almost my entire life. They’ve been a school that gets the best in-state kids and puts a lot of them in the NBA. That kind of stuff is huge for any player, obviously.

“They think I can handle the ball but also put the ball in the hoop, when needed. I always try to be in attack mode so the fact that schools appreciate my aggressiveness humbles me.”

Howard isn’t going to decide on a school any time soon.

“I’m a ways off from choosing a school," he said. "I just got to Findlay, so I basically need to figure out my high school situation and get acclimated.

"The way I figure it, if I keep playing ball the schools will stay on me. There are certain things that I need to continue to work on. I want to tighten up my handles and I want to continue to work on my lead guard skills.”

Howard picked Findlay in large part to improve his game.

“I need to go against that type of competition every day in practice," Howard said. "Going against guys that have realistic goals of playing at the highest level just shows you how much you need to improve. I can’t wait to get started.
