Even though he is just rated a three star recruit by multiple services, Harbor City (Calif.) Narbonne 2016 wide receiver DeVaughn Cooper is thought of very high highly by many of the best schools in the country and there is a reason for that.
“The main compliment that I get is that I’m fast and that I can play the right way,” Cooper said. “Meaning that I run good routes and then I get out and I can make plays after I catch the ball.”
The Wildcat coaches are thrilled that Cooper is on board.
“It seemed that Arizona thought that I was a pretty good fit for what they want from their wide receivers and when I looked at how their wide receivers play it really did look like it was the perfect fit," he said.
"I mean it’s really hard not to get excited because it seems like they have two to three guys each season that have close to 1,000 receiving yards. It made a lot of sense for me. It really did.”
Cooper has one goal before he reaches Arizona.
“I would love to win state," he said. "I don’t know how we’re going to play the rest of the season, but I think we have the players and the talent to play well.
"It’s because there is so much talent in the south Los Angeles area. Every team has a bunch of good fast players who are getting big time Division I looks. I love competing in this area because I get to see the best.”
