Prized Long Beach (Calif.) City College pass rusher recruit Josh Allen missed his scheduled visit to Arizona this past weekend for the UCLA game, but fortunately there is a reason behind the absence.
“Honestly, I just missed the flight,” Allen said. “There is a lot of stuff going on and I couldn’t make it. I was really looking forward to the trip, but some stuff happened. I will definitely get out there sometime soon.”
Allen claims he is firm in his commitment to Arizona.
“Oh, I’m certainly still committed to Arizona," Allen said. "They’ve done a good job of staying in touch with me and not much has changed since the time that I committed.
"Arizona is getting a lot of love and they seem to be getting better and better each season. It was a tough loss last week, but it’s still one game."
As of now, the four-star commit does not have anything else planned for his recruitment.
“I don’t have other visits scheduled right now," Allen said. "It’s obviously really cool that I’m getting the offers from places like Alabama.
"You don’t just see schools like Alabama offer anyone, so it feels good for sure, but the reasons that I committed to Arizona still are the same.”
Allen is using these months to fine tune his game.
“I’m not playing right now as I’m using this time to continue to lift and get bigger and work on all the things from a football perspective that I can," he said.
“Everything is about getting to that point where when I take the field next season at the big time college level, that I am good enough to play and really make an impact on the field.”
