Even though Arizona lost to Washington State, the game was a fun affair and thoroughly enjoyed by many of the 2016 recruits, such as Long Beach City College defensive back London Iakopo
“The fans were great and it seemed like they really in to the game from the beginning,” Iakopo said. “Even though Arizona didn’t win, this was a terrific game to watch. It was super interesting and it was the kind of game that any player would want to play in.
“There is room for improvement from every player on the team, including the recruits coming in. It’s all about that goal of working towards getting to that championship level of play.”
Arizona was the first major school in on Iakapo and it was his toughness that attracted the Arizona coaching staff.
“They like the fact that I can come up in the box and hit the runner," he said. "That’s always something that I’ve understood how to do. Where sometimes you get guy who loved to run, I was the guy who loved to make hits.
"I think that translates well into the secondary and pretty much all of the different positions on the Arizona defense.”
Iakopo has never wavered on his commitment to Arizona.
“Even with a little bit more attention at the end of the season there was never any chance that I would not become a Wildcat," he said.
