Arizona Wildcats defeat Chico State in exhibition

Arizona cruised in an exhibition win over Chico State. Read on for the complete recap.

Ryan Anderson scored 19 points and added 10 rebounds as the Arizona Wildcats defeated Chico State 90-54 in Sunday's exhibition at McKale.

Kadeem Allen scored the first point of the game and Gabe York also got a basket. Kaleb Tarczewski then made a jumper, two free-throws, and another jumper to force a timeout with the Wildcats up 10-0 only a few minutes into the game.

Ryan Anderson scored, but Tanner Giddings did the same to get Chico State on the board and cut the lead to 12-2 at the first media timeout.

Mark Tollefsen got a basket, but Corey Silverstrom made a three. Dusan Ristic hit one of two free-throws and Silverstrom scored again. 

Isaiah Ellis made two jumpers in a row before a jumper by Ristic put Arizona’s lead at 17-11 with 11:22 left in the half.

Ellis and Anderson exchanged baskets before Allonzo Trier made two free-throws. A basket by York then gave Arizona a 23-13 lead with 7:43 remaining in the first half.

Jalen McFerren made two free-throws and Giddings hit a jumper. Parker Jackson-Cartwright made one from the line and York scored. Giddings and Pitts proceeded to exchange baskets as the Wildcats led 28-19 with 3:42 left in the half.

Giddings made a free-throw and Tyler Harris made two of his own. Anderson scored and followed with two free-throws and York made two from the line as well. A basket by Ellis then cut Arizona’s lead to 34-24.

Anderson proceeded to make a free-throw and a basket to put the Wildcats up 37-24 at the half. 

Silverstrom made two free-throws and Robert Duncan had a dunk. Tarczewski made two from the line before Duncan and York exchanged hoops.

Anderson then scored on a dunk and Harris and Tarczewski got a basket each as Arizona led 45-32 with 15:52 left in regulation. 

McFerren made a free-throw and Harris and Giddings got a basket each. Ristic responded with four points, but Marvin Timothy scored.

Anderson and Tarczewski then got consecutive baskets to give Arizona a 53-39 lead with 11:56 left. 

Jackson-Cartwright made two free-throws and York added a three to force a timeout with the Wildcats up 58-39.

Trier scored and McFerren responded with a three. Allen then made a bucket and added a free-throw. Duncan and Tollefsen exchanged baskets before Anderson scored. He then scored again and a basket by Justin Simon extended the lead to 71-46 with 6:31 left.
