Lancaster (Calif.) Paraclete 2016 running back Melquise Stovall is one of the most dynamic running backs in the country and arguably the highest rated remaining prospect on the Arizona recruiting radar.
“I’m just a guy that makes plays out there,” Stovall said. “I try to get into the open field and at that point I’m gone. I don’t think there is anybody that can stay in front of me one on one or when I get into the open field. Running comes naturally to me."
Some project Stovall as a better wide receiver, but he is looking for a college that will allow him to play both.
“I think I can fit into a lot of different schemes, so I’m not too worried about my role, although I obviously want to go to a place where the running backs are successful," Stovall said.
"I’m rehabbing an injury now, but I will for sure be ready to go again here soon and all these teams know that.”
The Wildcats seem to have a legitimate chance of landing Stovall.
“Arizona has made a big impression on me," he said. "The coaches have always been really cool. They tell that they think I can come in and play early. A lot of coaches tell me stuff like that, but Arizona does have a reputation for playing guys early.
“I will make a silent commitment this month and then announce at the Army game.”
