Scranton (Pa.) Lackawanna C.C outside linebacker Kapri Doucet is the kind of physical defensive talent that is currently in small supply for the Wildcat football team.
And it would not be a surprise if Doucet were to commit to Arizona in the coming weeks.
“Wherever I take a trip to, I’m going to give a serious look, but Arizona is a school that I’m excited offered me,” Doucet said “They just offered me today.
"They want me to get down there so I’m certainly going to trip there on December 11. The coaches have a lot of good things to say. I’m curious to see for myself.
“My only other visit that I’m in the process of setting up is Louisville. I haven’t been anywhere else.”
For now, Doucet is tending to his academics.
“I’m just finishing up finals," he said. " Then my focus goes straight to recruiting and where I’m going to spend the next couple seasons playing football."
As Doucet looks at the schools recruiting him, he has a good idea of what he wants.
“I’m looking for a place where I can go in and be an instant contributor," Doucet said. "I’ve gotten a lot better in the past few years and I think I’m ready to get to that next point. I would like to have the decision out of the way by late January.”
Doucet knows how much he is wanted in Tucson.
“Arizona loves my size," he said. "They think I can play any of the backers and move around after the quarterback if need be.”
