Like other greyshirts, New Westminster (B.C.) offensive tackle Harper Sherman is biding his time before he arrives at his collegiate destination.
“I’m just working out really hard right now,” Sherman said. “I’m obviously sitting out the first semester, so that gives me a little bit of time to continue to bulk up and I hope when I get there I will be able to go through spring ball and hopefully compete for a starting spot."
Arizona believes that Sherman will be able to come in and compete right away.
“They like that I have a really big frame and that I can be kind of a true tackle with my length and feet," Sherman said. "The coaches always tell me to be ready and to play for a starting spot, so I’m going to try and make that possible.”
The coaching staff is keeping close tabs on Sherman.
“Coach Michalczik talks to me all the time and being that he is a guy that I’m going to be around a lot it’s good that we are getting that good rapport down," Sherman said.
“It’s cool that Coach is sticking around as well. At Arizona there are a lot of good things opening up for the program. You play in a big time conference and not only can compete at the highest level, you can win at the highest level. Arizona to me is one of those places that you can come in and play the best teams and beat them.”
