Terrell Burgess ready to decide

Terrell Burgess is ready to decide at the end of January. Read on for the latest on his recruitment.

San Marcos (Calif.) 2016 cornerback Terrell Burgess is one of the highest rated prospects left on the Arizona recruiting board, and it’s easy to see why the fast improving defensive back is being heavily recruited.

“I think I had a really good senior season,” Burgess said. “I was able to accomplish most of the goals that I wanted.

"I wanted to improve my receiving yards, receiving touchdowns and tackles and I was able to do all of that stuff, so from an individual perspective everything on that front was very good.”

Burgess is focused in on finding the best place to attend school next season.

“The places that stick out the most to me right now are Utah, Arizona, California, San Diego State, Boise State and Nevada," he said. "I’ve tripped to some of those schools and I will get to the other ones here shortly.”

The three-star prospect was impressed by his visit to Arizona.

“That was a lot of fun," Burgess said. "I got to see the campus and see how the players and everything play. I also got an idea of how the coaches would use me.

"It’s obviously a defensive back heavy scheme, so I’m going to be intrigued by that. They are a school I’m impressed by."

After visiting numerous schools, Burgess is about a month away from a decision.

“I’m going to make my decision January 29th," he said. "It will be a relief to get that decision out of the way and then I can totally prepare for track. I’m looking to improve my times there, which will help for football.”
