Already one of the top high school prospects in the country regardless of class, Upland (Calif.) 2017 athlete Nathan Tilford knows that his recruiting options will only expand in the coming months.
“I’m not looking at recruiting at all right now,” Tilford said. “And I mean that seriously. If I take care of business the way that I know I can I will be fine. I’m not going to be one of these guys who lets things go to their heads
“I’ve got a lot of schools giving me love and I know that I just need to keep improving and doing the things that got me to this point.”
While Tilford doesn’t wish to name a list of prospective schools, he does admit that the Arizona coaching staff has been in touch with him.
“I hear from them from time to time," he said. "Nothing out of the ordinary though. It’s kind of the similar pitch that every other school gives. I’m sure the closer we get I’ll give each school, including them, a closer look.”
Tilford has one thing he is looking for in a potential school.
“I want to go to a place that the coaches give the rock to the running backs and let them make plays," he said. "I can figure the rest of the stuff out.
"I’ve got the ability I just need to find that coach who has full faith in my ability to do what it takes to make the big plays."
