Wildcats lose to Trojans in Four Overtimes

Arizona lost 103-101 to USC on Saturday night. Read on for the complete recap.

Arizona had plenty of opportunities, but couldn't do enough to get over the hump as it lost to USC 103-101 in four overtimes Saturday in Los Angeles.

Allonzo Trier opened the game with a three and Kaleb Tarczewski then scored. Bennie Boatwright then made a jumper and Tarczewski scored again.

Julian Jacobs made one of two from the line and Kadeem Allen hit a three. Nikola Jovanovic scored and Jordan McLaughlin made a three. 

A bucket by Mark Tollefsen proceeded to give the Wildcats a 12-8 lead with under 15 minutes left in the half. 

Chimezie Metu got on the board and Allen hit a three. Katin Reinhardt scored, as did Dusan Ristic.

Jacobs and Metu scored before Ristic scored and a three by Trier put the Wildcats up 24-16 with 11:22 remaining in the half.

McLaughlin made one of two free-throws and Elijah Stewart added a three. Ryan Anderson got his first bucket, but McLaughlin made a three.

Ristic and Jovanovic exchanged baskets, but Ristic scored again and Arizona led 30-25 with about eight minutes left in the half. 

McLaughlin and Jovanovic scored as a three by Stewart forced a timeout with the Wildcats down 32-30.

Jacobs and Allen exchanged buckets before Gabe York made two free-throws. Jovanovic scored and McLaughlin made two free-throws.

York and Stewart both hit a three, but Jacobs and Stewart ended the half with buckets to give the Trojans a 45-37 lead. 

Jovanovic scored and Trier came back with two consecutive baskets. McLaughlin then got a bucket and Trier got another.

Boatwright then made a three and hit another after a basket by Simon as the Trojans led 55-45 at the media timeout. 

York and Ristic scored, but McLaughlin got a dunk. York then made a basket and Darion Clark hit a free-throw. Stewart was fouled on a three and made two of the free-throw attempts to put the Trojans up nine.

Stewart and Trier proceeded to exchange threes and the Trojans led 63-54 with 10:25 left. 

The Trojans got another three from Stewart, but Tarczewski and Allen both scored to cut the lead to 66-58. 

Jacobs and Ristic both made a free-throw and Jacobs added two of his own. Stewart then scored on the glass and a three by York cut the USC lead to 71-62 with 5:20 remaining.

Trier got a basket and Tollefsen hit a three to force USC to call timeout with the lead down to four and 2:20 left.

Tarczewski proceeded to scored twice and tied the game at 71 with 1:20 remaining. Jovanovic and Allen both scored and Jacobs missed a shit at the buzzer to put the game into overtime. 

Trier made one of two free-throws to start the half and then made a jumper. Jacobs scored and Anderson made one from the line.

Boatwright hit two free-throws and two from Jacobs gave USC the 79-77 lead with 21 seconds left. 

Jacobs and Tarzewski scored to start overtime and a three by York put the Wildcats up 84-81 with 2:39 left in overtime. 

Boatwright and Stewart proceeded to make difficult shots and Jovanovic made a free-throw to put the Trojans up two. 

York made two free-throws to tie the game with 16 seconds left and bring the game into triple overtime.

Trier made a three and Metu scored. York hit two free-throws and Boatwright went one of two. Parker Jackson-Cartwright got a layup, but Boatwright and McLaughlin made two free-throws to tie the game at 93.

Jovanovic scored to put the Trojans up two and York made a layup two tied with about 15 seconds left. 

USC went to McLaughlin and he missed at the buzzer, as the game entered the fourth overtime.

Jacobs started the period with two free-throws and Anderson answered with a basket. Trier and Jovanovic then exchanged baskets. A bucket by Stewart proceeded to put the Trojans up 101-99 with 1:54 left.

Tarczewski made two free-throws, but Stewart was fouled by Justin Simon and made two free-throws with about 20 seconds left to win it.
