Arizona had numerous recruits on campus this weekend and one of them that is already committed is La Habra (Calif.) linebacker Jacob Colacion.
“I had a great time,” Colacion said. “We went to the basketball game and did a few things and saw the student life.
“Brandon Dawkins was my host. This was the first time meeting him, but he was a really easy guy to get to know. We hung out the whole time and it was cool.”
The highlight of Colacion’s weekend came on Saturday night.
“It was probably the basketball game,” he said. “That was actually my first time going to a college basketball game and it was nothing like I expected.”
Colacion entered the visit not knowing who would be his coach on the defensive side of the ball, but continues to trust Rich Rodriguez.
“I spent a lot of time with the coaches,” Colacion said. “I don’t have a position coach, but Coach Rod came in and told us where he wants to take the defense and it was great.
“I loved Coach Casteel, but I trust coach Rodriguez and I know whatever decision he makes will be a good one.
“It is just about meeting the new coach and getting to know him and talking to him.”
In addition, Rodriguez hinted at what the future might hold.
“We talked a little bit about that,” Colacion said. “I know he mentioned Marcel Yates and we got Coach Williams from San Jose State.
“I have met Coach Williams before. I never met Yates, but Boise offered me. I don’t know a lot about him specifically, but I know Boise State had a great defense and that speaks a lot about him.”
