Often this time of year, there are prospects that will emerge from being under the radar.
One such prospect is 6-foot-1, 185-pound El Paso (Texas) Andress free safety Tristan Cooper.
After holding early offers from New Mexico and UTEP, Cooper has added numerous others.
“Arizona and Illinois have offered me,” Cooper said. “I also just got offered by Purdue and Texas Tech.”
Cooper currently has some visits scheduled and it is possible that the late offers throw a wrench in his plans.
“Honestly, it really surprised me,” Cooper said. “I didn't see this coming. They want me to get out there in next couple weekends, but I still have visits scheduled.
“I don't know, maybe I will go to multiple places here. I have so little time, but I want to get to as many places that have offered me as possible.”
Before Cooper takes any other visits, he plans to step on Arizona’s campus this weekend.
“If I had to name a favorite school it would probably be Arizona,” Cooper said. “They’ve really impressed me and made me feel wanted.”
How impressed is he?
“It's not over by any means, but if things go well I could see myself committing,” Cooper said. “If just depends on how everything goes.”
