Arizona continues to look for help on the defensive line and one target that has emerged is Lakeland (Fla.) Kathleen Senior defensive end Francisco Nelson.
Nelson is currently committed to FAU and while he considers himself happy with the commitment, he admits that an offer from Arizona has him thinking.
“I've always liked Florida Atlantic because it's close and I know a lot of guys that have gone there,” Nelson said. “They have put guys in the league and they have been recruiting me for awhile.
“Plus, my family would be able to see me play on a regular basis. I'm still committed to them, but just getting an offer from Arizona has me thinking a little bit.”
It’s no secret that Arizona needs a few more defensive linemen and Jahmile Addae had an in-home visit with Nelson on Wednesday night in order to secure an official visit from Nelson on the 29th.
“The visit is a big thing because everything I have heard I like,” he said. “They want to go after the quarterback and make plays and they think that I can put on weight and play a lot of different spots.”
Once Arizona gets Nelson on campus, do the Wildcats have a chance?
“I know they have some new hires in there, so I have to get to know them better,” Nelson said. “They definitely have a chance though.”
