Marrero (La.) John Ehret 2016 safety Jarrius Wallace visited Arizona this past weekend and it’s safe to say the trip was a success.
“The Arizona visit went good,” Wallace said. “I got to see the place and it was just a lot different from where I come from, but you could tell it was all about football there.
"The coaches want me to come in and compete immediately. It’s kind of neat because there is a new staff there and everybody is trying to figure everything out. There was just a good vibe all the way around."
One of the draws of Arizona is that there are already numerous players from Louisiana on the roster.
“I also like that Arizona recruits a lot of guys from Louisiana and that they still will do that as long as some of the coaches are here," Wallace said. "I’m comfortable here.”
There is another school that is squarely in the mix for Wallace’s services.
“Colorado was kind of like Arizona," Wallace said. "Just a great campus and a coaching staff that I have a ton of respect for after getting to meet them.
"They made me feel at home and it was the kind of place that I could see myself playing at and trying to improve my game for the NFL level.”
Regardless, Wallace will soon make his college destination known.
“The decision is going to come down here soon," he said. "It’s really Arizona or Colorado, so I’m going to be moving wherever I go.
"I have to make sure that I make the right decision. I don’t want to get to a place and wish I was somewhere else.”
