Cochran has a decision to make

Jalen Cochran visited Arizona this past weekend and has now been offered by Michigan State. Read on for the latest.

Canton (Mich.) 2016 outside linebacker/defensive end Jalen Cochran would instantly have one of the more athletic builds of any Arizona pass rusher, and the Wildcat coaching staff would like nothing more than to obtain Cochran’s services.

“The visit to Arizona this past weekend went really well,” Cochran said. “Coach Richrod and the defensive guys like Coach Yates are all really good guys and coaches that I can see putting me in spots where I sack the quarterback.

"They want to have the kind of scheme where there are long defensive ends who can bend past the tackle. I liked the campus as well. Everything on the visit just felt really was good. I felt a lot of good vibes coming out there.”

Unfortunately for Arizona fans, another school has entered the equation.

“Just getting an offer from Michigan State is a big deal," Cochran said. "That’s one of the best teams in the country and they always have good defenses and put guys in the NFL. Also, my family could see me play on a regular basis."

At this point, Cochran is likely to be a Signing Day decision.

“I have no timetable at all for when I am going to decide where I want to go," he said. "I’ve gotten some really good offers here just recently and I’ve just finished taking visits and I might have to take some more. Either way, I’m in a spot where I can make a really good choice.”
