Signing Day Awards: Early impact

Who do we think is the player most likely to make an immediate impact? Read on to find out.

Michael Luke: Everyone seems to think this is where Josh Allen comes in to play, but I have my doubts and JUCO players at Arizona haven’t panned out recently.

To me, the answer is Khalil Tate. Solomon will start out the season as the starter, but when he gets hurt, I expect Tate to take the reins and not look back. Fans got a glimpse of how dangerous this offense could be when Dawkins was running it against ASU. Tate is better.

Cody James Martin: J.J. Taylor is an absolute beast at running back and showed why during the state playoffs. Arizona has Nick Wilson and Orlando Bradford ahead of the freshman, but with both of them being injury prone in the past, it is easy to see how Taylor could see some legitimate playing time this year.

Ultimately, Arizona would probably like the idea of being able to keep him behind improved versions of Wilson and Bradford, but Taylor's skill may make him an option even if those two stay healthy all season.

Jason Scheer: Arizona told some running back recruits to take a hike and did not move on others. I don’t think the coaching staff does that unless it is confident in what it got with Taylor. He’s not the biggest back, but he is strong and he fits this offense perfectly. With Nick Wilson unable to show that he can stay healthy an entire season, it makes sense that Taylor is going to get some carries.
