With the 2016 recruiting cycle over, Arizona will now start to recruit 2017 aggressively.
One prospect that has a good chance of getting an offer is Covina (Calif.) Charter Oak 2017 wide receiver Brian Casteel.
“Arizona, UCLA and Washington State are the three teams that I like the most right now,” Casteel said.
“Arizona wants me to take an unofficial visit and when I get there they made it sound like they could offer me assuming everything went well. Things have picked up and I’m going to look more closely at what I want to see in a team and from the coaches."
Nonetheless, Casteel’s eyes won’t drift too far from the goal at hand.
“I’m doing 7 on 7’s right now," he said. "I think I can do good things over the next few months and maybe I’ll impress more coaches.
"I’m all about working hard and getting better. The guys that I play with are all about pushing each other and getting to that next level."
Casteel has a good idea of what he needs to do in order to get more offers.
“It’s kind of the first step in the process, showing everybody my work ethic and then showing everybody my talent and the kind of plays that I can make," Casteel said.
"It’s always been my goal to play football for a living and I’m going to do what I can to make that happen."
