Second half rally leads Wildcats to win

Arizona used a strong second half to defeat UCLA on Friday night. Read on for a complete recap.

Arizona used a big second half and some UCLA foul trouble to defeat the Bruins 81-75 Friday night at McKale.

Isaac Hamilton started the game with two baskets, but Gabe York made a three. Parker Jackson-Cartwright proceeded to make two free-throws and a three of his own.

Jonah Bolden got on the board and Hamilton scored again. After a bucket by Thomas Welsh, Jackson-Cartwright made a three.

A layup by Aaron Holiday proceeded to put the Bruins up 12-11 at the media timeout. 

Dusan Ristic made one free-throw, as did Kaleb Tarczewski. Ristic then exchanged baskets with Holiday before a three by Hamilton put UCLA up 17-15 with 11:53 left in the first half. 

Tony Parker scored, but Ryan Anderson matched. Hamilton and Parker then both got buckets to force a timeout with the Bruins up 23-17 with 9:29 remaining in the half. 

Jackson-Cartwright scored, but made took two free-throws and Hamilton hit a three to extend the lead to nine. 

Alford made a free-throw and Allonzo Trier made two. Welsh proceeded to get a bucket followed by one free-throw from Trier and Tarczewski.

Bolden scored and Allen made two free-throws, as another basket by Bolden gave UCLA a 35-25 lead.

Jackson-Cartwright made a free-throw, but Hamilton hit a jumper. Ristic then scored and Hamilton got another one.

York proceeded to get a three-point play and Allen added a free-throw as Arizona cut the lead to seven. 

Alford made two free-throws and Anderson did as well. Alford hit two more and Parker went one of two from the line as UCLA led 44-34 at the half. 

York hit a three to start the half, but Alford matched. Anderson and Welsh then exchanged baskets and UCLA’s lead held at ten at the media timeout. 

Trier made two free-throws and added two more baskets to force UCLA to call timeout with the Wildcats within 49-45 with 13:48 left. 

Bolden and Ristic exchanged baskets and Hamilton made two free-throws. Trier then made a three and Parker scored as UCLA led 55-50 with 10:54 remaining. 

Hamilton and Jackson-Cartwright exchanged baskets before Prince Ali scored. Anderson then got a bucket and Trier added two free-throws to bring Arizona within three.

Tollefsen made a free-throw and York went one of two from the line also. Anderson gave Arizona the lead, but Bolden hit a quick jumper to get it right back. 

Anderson made a free-throw and Alford scored. Tarczewski made two from the line and Trier added a basket.

Alford responded with a three and York got a bucket. Alford then hit one free-throw and Tarczewski got an easy bucket.

A three-point play by Hamilton proceeded to put the Bruins up 70-69 with 3:23 left.

Tarczewski scored soon after and Jackson-Cartwright hit a three to force a UCLA timeout with the Wildcats up 74-70 with 2:25 remaining.

Tarczewski made a free-throws and York added a three-point play. Hamilton then scored as Arizona led 78-72. 

Allen made one free-throw and Alford responded with a three. Two free-throws from Trier then sealed the deal for the Wildcats.
