The UA football program plans to take a national recruiting approach, and nothing better indicates this approach this than the pursuit of La Grange Park (Ill.) Oswego East 2017 running back Ivory Kelly Martin.
Considered one of the more explosive backs in the country, Kelly-Martin figures to receive even more attention.
“Every school is even right now,” Kelly-Martin said. “More teams are sending me stuff everyday. I kind of don’t even want to put a list out there because it’s so early, but I do like the schools that are recruiting me right now.”
Arizona is one of those schools.
“They have gotten on me a lot lately and it’s somewhere that I will probably trip to," Kelly-Martin said. "I don’t know a lot about the school, but I like what I’m hearing. Arizona is a big factor in my recruitment. It seems like a good place to play at.”
Not surprisingly, Kelly Martin also excels at other sports.
“I’m running track right now and doing pretty well, but I never really take my eye off of football," he said. "I still train and lift as if I’m playing football full year round because that is where my future is.
“I would say the things that I need to do the most are get stronger and continue to work my hands. I like to run the ball for sure, but it’s also a lot of fun to catch the ball out of the backfield. My whole thing is to make myself a more complete player than ever.”
