The Wildcats played one of their better games of the season to defeat the Sun Devils 99-61 at McKale.
Kaleb Tarczewski scored off a rebound and Gerry Blakes finally put ASU on the board as the Wildcats led 8-2 at the media timeout.
Willie Atwood hit a three to cut the Arizona lead to 15-7 with 11:50 left in the first half.
Anderson made two free-throws and Kodi Justice score din the lane. Eric Jacobsen hit two from the line and Andre Spight and Oleka made a three-pointer each to tie the game at 17 with 8:11 remaining in the half.
York made a shot, but Blakes responded with a three. York and Anderson then both got baskets, as Tra Holder scored.
York proceeded to make a three from the corner to extend Arizona’s lead to 26-22 with under four minutes left in the first half.
Parker Jackson-Cartwright scored and Trier added a three. After a free-throw by Blakes, Trier got a three-point play.
Ristic scored and Holder and Anderson exchanged one free-throw each. Trier then went one of two from the line and Arizona led 38-24 at the half.
Tarczewski started the half with two free-throws and Anderson added a basket. Blakes scored, but consecutive threes by Trier and York extended Arizona’s lead to 48-26 and forced ASU to call timeout.
Jackson-Cartwright scored and Trier made two free-throws. Oleka and Ristic exchanged baskets before Spight made two free-throws.
Ristic got a bucket, but Jacobsen picked up a three-point play. Anderson and Spight both hit two free-throws before Anderson scored again.
Kadeem Allen hit a three and a layup. Oleka made a three of his own, but Allen and Spight scored again.
Jackson-Cartwright nailed a three, as a basket by Holder brought ASU to within 70-42 with about then minutes left.
Jackson-Cartwright made a free-throw and Blakes scored. Mark Tollefsen then got a basket and Trier added two from the line.
Oleka made a shot and then hit a three after a free-throw by Ristic as the Wildcats led 76-49 with 7:24 left.
Holder made two free-throws and Anderson got a dunk. Trier and Ristic both made two free-throws each before Allen got a bucket and Arizona went up 84-52 with over five minutes left.
